Sunday ride along the Island Line Trail

I'm glad the website and this blog are finally live. Yesterday, as I was biking along the Colchester Causeway (part of the Island Line Trail) which runs from Colchester to South Hero, Vermont I realized this could be one of my first blog entries.

I joined some family members for a nice leisurely ride along the causeway to the Local Motion Bike Ferry. The Bike Ferry transports riders and their bikes across the causeway "cut" to the town of South Hero. After we got off the ferry in South Hero, we made our way north to Seb's for some lunch and a creemee. A few of us took the "unimproved singletrack" (yes, even with the Burley trailer) on the South Hero Recreation Trail, through some really cool swampland, which was an alternate way to get to Seb's.

It was a beautiful day in Vermont. I was pulling my daughter in the Burley trailer so we stopped for many breaks along the way.  As we cruised along, we saw lots of things -- mountains, sail boats, kayaks, kids and adults jumping off a railroad tressel into the lake, snakes, frogs, bogs, sunflowers, cows, horses, chickens, and even apples on the apple trees (yum, it's almost apple season!).

See you on the trail
